We are assisting a leading provider of innovative prefabricated MEP solutions, serving a wide range of industries including hotels, residential, data centres and pharmaceutical sectors. Due to continued growth, the organisation is in need of a highly skilled and experienced local Mechanical & Electrical Materials Buyer to join the team in delivering a hyper-scale data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany. As M&E materials Buyer you will manage the procurement of M&E materials in collaboration with various departments, ensuring the smooth transition of all material ordering from technical approval to final stages of invoicing.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
Negotiate M&E contracts, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost saving opportunities and maintain good working relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
Ensure the efficient and professional delivery of M&E materials directly to the site by coordinating availability to meet project timelines.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to forecast material requirements and ensure all materials meet technical specifications and project timelines.
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reviews to ensure all documentation is up to date, sites are being serviced efficiently, and performance meets the expected high standards.
Conduct supplier audits and evaluations as needed to maintain a reliable supply chain and monitor supplier performance to ensure adherence to contract terms and quality standards.
Monitor and manage procurement budgets, ensuring all purchases align with project cost plans and prepare regular reports on procurement activities, including cost analysis and supplier performance.
Conduct thorough vetting and evaluation of EU contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and project requirements.
Manage all EU material purchasing for delivery direct to all site locations.
Ensure all contractors adhere to the scheduled programs of work for each site.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, supplier correspondence, and report to the Procurement Manager and Company Directors as required.
3-5 years of experience in procurement or buying, preferably within the M&E or construction industry.
Proven experience working with mechanical and electrical materials, equipment, and suppliers.
Effective communication skill in German is essential to effectively communicate with German stakeholders, contractors, and suppliers.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent knowledge of procurement best practices and supply chain management.
Familiarity with M&E technical specifications and industry standards.
