Aerospace manufacturing company located in Tukwila, WA is currently hiring for a Buyer. This employee must have knowledge of blueprints, experience with ERP and MRP systems (Epicor, SAP, or Sage is a plus), negotiation experience, and manufacturing buying experience. The primarily function of this role will be responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Specifically, but not limited to: complex machine components, fabrications, and weldments. This employee will be responsible for evaluating vendor quotes and services to determine the most desirable suppliers.
***Must reside near Tukwila, WA as this position is 100% onsite. No relocation offered at this time for out of state candidates***
Pay: $65k - $80k (Depending on overview of relevant manufacturing industry experience, tenure, system knowledge...etc.)
Location: 100% onsite in Tukwila, WA
Shift: Standard PST Morning Shift Monday (8:00 AM PST - 5:00 PM PST)
(Key Responsibilities)
+ Plan, organize, and coordinate activities related to the procurement function. Work with vendors to maintain and/or improve service levels as required.
+ Generates purchase orders to ensure appropriate inventory levels.
+ Responds to inquiries from internal and external sources to provide information and/or direction.
+ Reviews requisitions and purchase orders to ensure completeness and accuracy prior to processing.
+ Maintains a positive relationship and open communication with division buyers, managers, and corporate staff.
+ Maintain data records to evaluate vendor quotations and utilize appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.
+ Identify and expedite supplier ship dates to meet requirements.
+ Identify and evaluate potential suppliers; proactively seek and evaluate new qualified suppliers.
+ Work closely with suppliers to reduce costs of materials and meet quality/delivery requirements.
+ Lead competitive bidding and pricing processes. Review bids and proposals for competitive cost, quality, and facility/customer specification requirements.
+ Work with Accounting to resolve invoice and purchasing order variances.
(Job Requirements)
+ 2-5 years of manufacturing buying experience (non-negotiable).
+ ERP and MRP experience (Epicore, SAP, or Sage is highly considered).
+ Knowledge of blueprints (familiarity with Boeing blueprints is a huge plus).
+ Strong decision making and negotiation experience (ability to negotiate with suppliers to achieve cost reductions and other concessions that improve financial and operational effectiveness).
+ Working knowledge of warehouse distribution flow.
+ Self-starter who can work with very little supervision.
+ Pleasant and positive personality with outstanding customer service commitment even in possible high-pressure/stressful situations.
(Work Environment)
+ Although the location has the manufacturing/production plant, the employee will be exposed to minimal noise, carpeted floor, and normal office environment.
Compensation is tied to the Colorado and Washington markets for jobs performed in Colorado and Washington. Other locations may be subject to variances based on location-related factors.
