SUMMARY\n

The Buyer is accountable for procurement and production planning. The Buyer is responsible for master scheduling, capacity planning, detailed production planning, vendor resource planning, resolving vendor matters, and implementing raw material strategies that achieve service and costs objectives. This role will support budget setting activities, publish supplier performance, and report out other supply chain metrics.\n

RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nCoordinates purchasing through planning and budget control.\nJustifies selection of services through competitive pricing guidelines in conjunction procurement policies and procedures.\nVerifies terminology and specifications of purchase requests.\nPrepares and issues purchase orders and change notices based on requirements.\nSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with vendors.\nUses computer system to maintain purchase orders, research possible vendors, and other purchasing related actions.\nEnsures the proper preparation and maintenance of records and files.\nAdheres to required property control policies and procedures.\n\n\nWork with Controller to make sure the Finance Policy 2100 is followed.\nOversees all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.\nInterface with corporate purchasing on supplier problems and give feedback on supplier quality. Update corporate purchasing on new products used and specification changes.\nWork with suppliers on invoice and payment issues.\n\n\nAssisting with long term planning, strategy development, and continuous improvement of assigned spend categories.\nResearching and qualifying new vendors.\nAssisting with identifying competitive sources, seeking pricing and delivery schedules, selecting suppliers, and placing orders.\nDeveloping and implements sourcing, negotiating and contracting strategies to achieve the desired outcomes aligned with department and corporate metrics.\nResponsible for helping to develop procurement processes and systems to help achieve Corporate, Business Unit, and plant procurement objectives and metrics.\nWill support necessary purchasing systems training.\nImplementing Statements of Work for inbound services\nPlan vendor resources for assigned direct and indirect materials\nProvide supplier(s) performance ratings for assigned raw materials\/supplier base\nResponsible for maintaining ERP master data of selected raw materials and vendors\nContribute to budget setting activities of designated raw materials\nFacilitate vendor activities required to qualify raw materials; ensuring adherence to internal and external compliance requirements\nImplements raw material and WIP inventory strategies\nMay require travel up to 10% of the time\n\n

QUALIFICATIONS\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Excel.\nExperience with NAVISION or similar ERP would be strongly preferred.\nStrong negotiation skills, analytical skills, and decision-making skills.\nAttention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all input.\nSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with vendors.\n\n\nProblem solving skills\n\n
