Reporting to the Director of Development Purchasing, you will collaborate with a team of 4 at The Cheesecake Factory Corporate Development office in Irvine, CA. As the Buyer, you will play an integral role in managing the décor purchasing process for a global $3.4 billion public company, which operates over 300 full-service restaurants and employs more than 47,500 staff members. Here’s more of what you’ll get to do: Manage timely submission and accurate maintenance of purchasing orders for restaurant construction projects. Foster strong supplier relationships to ensure smooth execution of purchasing orders and resolve any issues promptly. Coordinate schedule changes and replacement décor requests to minimize project disruptions. Propose improvements in purchasing strategies based on organizational changes and industry trends. Lead cost reduction projects through effective tactical execution and strategic planning. Oversee procurement aspects of ongoing development projects to meet project goals and budget. Collaborate on and lead purchasing-related aspects of departmental projects. Pack and ship items weighing up to 35 lbs, ensuring adherence to shipping protocols. Collaborate with the Office Manager on packing and shipping logistics for projects. Conduct regular inventory reconciliations to manage purchased parts and products effectively. What we require: 5+ years of previous buyer or procurement experience. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Strong verbal communication skills. Strong relationship building skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure. What we prefer: Bachelor’s degree.
