Job Description
The Buyer will be responsible for select or assigned operations focused on the procurement of materials and supplies needed for the manufacturing and packaging operations of the organization.
ResponsibilitiesManage the procurement of materials and supplies for manufacturing and packaging operations.Utilize an MRP system for procurement processes.Engage in purchasing activities including vendor relationships, expediting orders, and ensuring delivery conditions.Make administrative and procedural decisions.Document work in progress and maintain accurate records.Evaluate procurement bids in accordance with established criteria.Resolve customer complaints and concerns.Employ conflict resolution and mediation skills as necessary.Assess contract compliance and product/service quality.Analyze and solve problems effectively.Prepare formal procurement solicitations in compliance with business policies and state procurement codes.Essential Skills2+ years of experience utilizing an MRP system.2+ years of experience in purchasing activities including vendor relationships, expediting orders, and delivery conditions.Proficient in Microsoft Excel.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to perform complex tasks and prioritize multiple projects.Knowledge of cost analysis techniques.Ability to investigate and analyze information to draw conclusions.Negotiating skills.Highly organized and detail-oriented.Ability to use independent judgment and manage confidential information.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in procurement, purchasing, and supply chain management.ERP and SAP experience.Inventory management skills.Conflict resolution and mediation skills.Work Environment
The position is located in Harleysville, PA. The schedule is hybrid, from 8am to 5pm. The first two weeks will be 100% onsite, after which the work schedule will be onsite Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, with the option to work from home on Thursday and Friday.
