Your role and responsibilities

The Buyer will support our site in Bloomfield, CT by providing procurement expertise for our local R&D teams, facilities team, lab teams, and prototype ship teams. The candidate will work daily with these team members as well as global team members to execute purchase orders and manage needed budgetary and financial responsibilities. The Buyer will be working in a fast-paced and cutting-edge environment with high performing teams and team members. This is a hybrid position. This role is contributing to the Electrification Smart Power division in the United States.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tAdapting corporate contractual framework to the local business needs. Recommend frame agreements to management and executes upon approval.•\tInitiating Purchase Orders (PO) in the system, according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures, and confirms delivery with suppliers, monitors, and tracks supplier performance to PO requirements. •\tTrack goods received to verify appropriate delivery and ensure invoice processing.•\tOversee supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time), and resolves performance issues

Qualifications for the role

5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience, specifically in the electrical industryBachelors Degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred. Candidates with commensurate education and experience will also be considered. Strong knowledge in purchasing methods and techniques.Experience in negotiating/managing medium to high value, multi-year and/or complex procurements.Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
