Azenta Life Sciences is seeking a Buyer to join our growing and dynamic organization. Reporting to the Procurement Manager for the Multiomics and Synthesis Solutions business known as GENEWIZ, this position will provide support to the Global Multiomics organization. The buyer will work closely with the line of business leaders, finance and other counterparts to provide timely and actionable information regarding purchasing materials, supplies and equipment. In this strategic role, the buyer will manage and track spend for the business and perform associated day to day tasks.

This critical position within the Multiomics procurement team holds key responsibilities including monitoring of purchase orders, management of inventory levels, negotiation, weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reporting of spend, and assisting the Procurement Manager in achieving overall procurement goals.

What You’ll Do…

Primary Responsibilities:

Maintain an orderly system to track direct materials for the businessManage vendor data base and support vendor setup process in NetsuiteEnsure management of target inventory levelsSupport and participate in price negotiations with vendorsDrive to PPV savings and cost savings targetsEnsure accurate and timely delivery of materials to sitesIdentify and manage supply chain risks, communicate with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risksDrive initiatives and continuous process improvement to help the team to become more efficient and effectiveGenerates internal management reports for weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reporting of spend 

This role will have the opportunity for development and learning by assisting with the following:

Annual planning processes with respect to development of direct materials spend targetsLeading data, process and reporting improvement initiativesPartnering with business leaders to address pain points and challengesBroad spectrum of negotiation discussionsContinuous improvement to the Multiomics procurement process

What you will bring…

This position requires 2+ years of relevant experience (purchasing demand /production planning within a manufacturing environment)Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, APICS certification (CPIM) preferredRequires the ability to operate with a sense of urgency, prioritize assignments and be self-directedExperience with Lean / Continuous Improvement teams and activitiesExpert capability in modern sourcing principlesStrong preference for a candidate with knowledge of Netsuite based planning systemStrong preference for a candidate with experience in Life Science Services industryAbility to analyze cost effectiveness and make sound commercial / business decisionsStrong problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple competing priorities for multiple projects.Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Working Conditions/ Schedule

Hybrid - South Plainfield, NJ (aligned to company policy 4 days in office)Occasional travel may be required (not expected to be more than 5%)
