Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Buyer.
In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for order placement and monitoring to ensure delivery of products and services to end users. This role will provide customer service support to departments both on and off campus. This person will also be responsible for the entire ordering process from approved requisition to matched invoice. Working with Suppliers for order follow up and product research. This position will be involved with various projects to improve the process of the Procurement Operations team as well as Supply Chain as a whole
Job Responsibilities:

Ensures uninterrupted supply of materials and services of a critical nature and of significant spend volumes across all locations. Locates sources of supply when contracted sources are unable to meet demands.

Cooperates with internal and external customers to ensure efficient operations.

Initiates follow-up on orders to clarify, change or solve discrepancies.

Conducts business in a timely, professional, and ethical manner at all times.

Recognizes the value and impact of core procurement technologies, works with the Department?s Application Delivery and Automation Team to automate processes to the greatest practical extent and maximize its functionalities.

Works closely with Strategic Sourcing and Data team members to identify opportunities for items needed by end users, supplier adds and changes and as well as maintaining clear concise records of buying decisions. Reports inconsistencies with pricing contracts to Sourcing and acts as an integral part of the service contract process.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor s degree is required or in absence of a degree significant experience of purchasing functions in highly relevant role is acceptable. 1 year of experience. Strong writing and oral communication skills Strong customer focus with a sense of urgency and high level of accountability
Preferred Qualifications:
Focus on customer service skills follow up and ability to conduct themselves as a resource to their customers Experience with purchasing systems and supply chain management technologies are preferred Ability to analyze suggest and improve processes to improve total group efficiency and productivity

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $67,771.14 - $68,900.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
