Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity in the bustling city of Columbus, Ohio. The role is for a meticulous and diligent Buyer for a commercial distributor. The successful candidate will be joining a fast-paced workplace, where multi-tasking and collaboration with various departments, including accounting and shipping, are crucial. Responsibilities: • Reviewing and managing purchase reports • Handling and adjusting price changes effectively • Preparing and analyzing quotes for purchasing functions • Collaborating efficiently with multiple departments such as accounting and shipping • Conducting pricing analysis and implementing necessary changes • Having a role in inside sales activities • Overseeing and managing order entry • Handling expeditor, shipping, and logistics tasks • Utilizing software tools such as VLU, Epicor P21 for various tasks • Ensuring data reporting is accurate and up-to-date. Requirements • Proven experience in the role of a Buyer within a similar industry • Proficient in pricing analysis and able to make informed decisions based on market trends • Demonstrable skills in data reporting, with the ability to interpret and present data effectively • Extensive knowledge of purchasing materials and understanding of supply chain management • Experience in managing all purchasing functions, including vendor selection and negotiation • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
