Description We are in the process of expanding our team in Coppell, Texas, and are currently seeking a Buyer. In the manufacturing industry, this role is critical for maintaining smooth operations and ensuring the efficient procurement of necessary materials and goods. This is a short term contract employment opportunity that provides a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
Responsibilities
• Oversee and manage the purchasing of materials and goods necessary for the manufacturing process.
• Implement strategic plans to improve procurement activities.
• Conduct market research to identify potential vendors and suppliers.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure the best cost and quality.
• Collaborate with other departments to forecast the needs and manage inventory levels.
• Review and process purchase orders.
• Resolve any arising issues or discrepancies with suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with the industry's standards and regulations in all purchasing activities.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery, ensuring optimal service.
• Maintain and update records of purchased products, delivery information, and invoices. Requirements • Have a proven track record as a Buyer in the manufacturing industry.
• Display strong negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers.
• Understand supply chain procedures thoroughly.
• Be proficient in using purchasing software, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exhibit excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
• Demonstrate exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Have a keen eye for detail, ensuring accuracy in order processing and invoice verification.
• Hold a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or relevant field.
• Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally, to liaise with suppliers and internal teams.
• Understand market dynamics and sound business judgement.
• Be able to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
• Have a problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
• Understand manufacturing materials, equipment, and services thoroughly.
• Adhere to all compliance, safety, and legal requirements related to purchasing in the manufacturing industry.
• Show a commitment to continuous detail oriented development and learning in the purchasing field.
