Position objective

Purchasing responsibilities for engine components in the respective commodities assigned for this position. This covers all NPD and MDP sourcing activities, the serial purchasing tasks, and as well the handling of spare parts commercial activities. 

The activities have to be performed in accordance with our Global Supply Chain Strategy and the Mexico Deployment Plan. Furthermore our targets in the focus criteria such as: Partnership potential; Innovation; Production/Logistics requirements; Quality and Cost, have to be supported.


This requires the active performance of the defined supplier relationship management program

Roles & responsibilities

Responsibilities and dutiesSupport the respective commodity strategy activities (strategic sourcing process). Actively perform the supplier relationship management.Technology/market/industry/benchmark research and analysis activities.Sourcing activities for new components and for relocation project.RFQ and negotiations for parts/tools based on cost analysis and open book policy with suppliers.Supplier nomination/selection in the cross functional sourcing meeting.Contract negotiations with suppliers such as; LTA, Terms/conditions; B2B contract; Logistics.Administrative activities in our IT System (SAP)CommunicationLong Term Negotiation SkillsInnovationHigh proactivity & exceptional follow up.Continuous Improvement. 

Position profile:

• Degree/study in engineering and / or
• Degree/study in supply chain / economics

Foreign Languages:


• Fluent English 90% (speaking & writing)
 

Professional Experience:

Sr. Buyer:Al least 5 years of experience in such a buyer responsibility; ideally with some experience in a manufacturing role as well; ideally in the automotive industry.Supplier Development - Leverage Lean Concepts and Six Sigma tools to develop and effectively implement advanced Supply Chain solutions, processes, and systems improvementsAnalyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine reasonable prices and costs structures for supplier proposals.Ability to communicate / negotiate with management level of suppliers and to do any kind of commercial communication/negotiation including contracts.Experience: working with other cultures.

Technical skills (Minimum desired)


• Experience in HPDC, Gravity/low pressure Casting processes
• Cost Structure & Cost break down activities. 
• Cost calculation methods/tools/techniques.
• Negotiation Skills
• Project management.
• Microsoft Office (excel, power point).
• SAP.
