What You’ll Do:
Assess material availability: Analyze market and delivery systems to evaluate current and future material availability.Evaluate suppliers: Research and assess suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production capabilities, and reputation.
Monitor contract performance: Evaluate and monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and identify the need for adjustments.
Analyze pricing and financial data: Review price proposals, financial reports, and other relevant data to determine fair and reasonable pricing.
Develop strategic purchasing programs: Study sales records and inventory levels to create and implement strategic purchasing initiatives.
Establish procurement policies: Develop and enforce purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures.
Manage vendor relationships and budgets: Identify vendors, oversee purchasing department budgets, and coordinate department personnel's activities.
What You’ll Bring:
Sound judgment: Ability to make practical and informed decisions in real-world situations.Education: Associate’s Degree or completion of some college courses is preferred.
Purchasing and negotiation experience: Strongly preferred experience in purchasing and negotiating pricing.
Supply chain experience: Previous experience in supply chain management is strongly preferred.
Excel proficiency: Familiarity with Excel is considered a plus.
Industry-specific knowledge: Experience with machine-shop cutting tools and the steel industry is a plus.
Communication skills: Strong oral and written communication skills.
Organized and detail-oriented: Ability to stay organized, manage details, and work autonomously.
Accountability and confidentiality: Demonstrates responsibility for actions and maintains confidentiality.
Team player: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Reliability: Consistently dependable and committed to high-quality performance.
Your Schedule:
