Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Buyer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining the best value through purchasing, managing supplier relationships, and supporting new product development. This role involves understanding technical specifications to ensure procured items meet quality standards, performing daily purchasing for production needs, and using MRP-ERP systems. You will oversee purchases and manage supplier documentation within the quality system.

ResponsibilitiesObtain the best value through purchasing.Manage supplier relationships to secure positive relationships and favorable purchasing agreements.Handle material operations buying for service, facilities, and capital purchases.Support the new product development team in finding alternative and requested materials for new product launches.Understand technical specifications to ensure all procured items meet required quality standards and necessary specifications.Perform daily purchasing for production needs and oversee purchases.Use MRP-ERP systems to perform duties.Manage supplier documentation in the quality system.Essential Skills2-10 years of experience in purchasing or directly related work.Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Team player who can work with internal and external partners.Background in purchasing desired.Experience in a manufacturing environment with purchasing raw materials is helpful.Deep knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.Experience with MRP-ERP business systems.Proficiency in Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.Additional Skills & QualificationsMarket knowledge of aluminum and copper materials and services to support manufacturing preferred.Work Environment

This is an onsite position located in an office environment, working in a cubicle with the purchasing team. The working hours are from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Employees enjoy potential for monthly bonuses, HSA health insurance, PTO, 40 hours of sick leave, and a 401K plan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $65000.00/yr.

The position will working in team atmosphere performing day to day buying and other purchasing department functions. Additionally you will be seeking suppliers, getting quotes, placing orders, and tracking orders. You will have to effectively and professionally communicate via phone and written correspondence. Experience accepted can vary, but should have basics understanding of purchasing, sourcing, and negotiating. Must have strong understanding of MS products and working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and ability to use or learn JD Edwards MRP software.
