Job Title: BuyerJob Description Under the general direction of the Global Procurement Manager, the Mechanical Buyer I is knowledgeable in most aspects of generalized purchasing and may be knowledgeable in fabricated mechanical components, fasteners, and assemblies. This role coordinates purchasing activities with sales, manufacturing, and engineering departments to acquire raw material, finished goods inventory, MRO and Capital equipment, and/or outside services, both direct and indirect, in a cost-effective and timely manner. Responsibilities + Adhere to Corporate Purchasing Policy and Procedures. + Process Singapore PO’s and Sales Orders. + Monitor and expedite corporate buy requests on a daily/weekly basis. + Perform cost analysis and inventory planning for various commodities. + Recommend new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate. + Understand engineering drawings and interpret various methods of manufacturing, standards, and attributes such as material, finish, and secondary operations. + Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers. + Ensure that products and services procured meet established standards. + Work with suppliers to optimize schedules of incoming shipments. + Interface with mechanical suppliers, including RFQ, PO processing, expediting, tracking delivery, and quality performance. + Collaborate cross-functionally with various internal and external teams. + Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice by management. Essential Skills + Knowledge of purchasing, procurement, and purchase orders. + Experience with ERP and MRP systems. + Inventory planning and management skills. + Experience in engineering and buying. + Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint). + Basic understanding of engineering drawings and flow charts. Additional Skills & Qualifications + MRP knowledge and use may be required. + Basic understanding of industry commodities and market trends with respect to raw materials, manufacturing locales, and strategic sources. + Technical understanding of the company’s products and supply base is highly desired. + Fluency in English – Mandarin is a plus. + Proven buyer knowledge of mechanical items and/or fabricated metals. Work Environment This position operates in a small office environment with three people. The standard working hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
