Job Title: Procurement SpecialistJob Description The Procurement Specialist is responsible for the on-time procurement of materials and services, ensuring the required quality level and meeting contract requirements at the lowest total evaluated cost or best value. This position also involves administering order requirements by coordinating document submittals, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely completion. Responsibilities + Develop and maintain qualified sources of supply through constant search, appraisal, and negotiation with potential vendors. + Employ effective purchasing techniques with an emphasis on negotiation and competitive source development. + Meet goals established for any cost reduction program. + Participate in the preparation of current and accurate lead time status for use by the company. + Maintain effective communication with all interfacing departments. Essential Skills + 3+ years of purchasing experience within manufacturing. + Proficient with an ERP system. + Thorough knowledge of purchasing techniques. + General business acumen with specific knowledge in economics, accounting, negotiating, value analysis, price-cost analysis, and contract law. + Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive customer service attitude. + Problem-solving and analysis skills. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities/multiple deliverables. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor's Degree in a Business-related major is preferred. Work Environment The position is based in a manufacturing facility and involves working both in an office environment and out on the production floor. Steel-toe shoes are required when on the production floor. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm or 7:00 am to 4:30 pm with every other Friday off. The dress code is business casual. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
