Job Description Insight Globals large manufacturing client is looking for a Buyer to support their Corporate Engineering group. The Buyer/Category Manager is responsible for issuing purchase orders (POs) and contracts for capital equipment used in manufacturing operations In the U.S. and Canada. This position creates and executes RFPs, negotiates pricing, negotiates and resolves contract language and PO terms and conditions while working with the Legal Department. This person will be working closely with engineering and project management to facilitate the procurement function in support of capital projects. This position works as a part of a team and reports to Sourcing Leadership. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Demonstrated experience handling multiple Sourcing projects concurrently for capital equipment and construction services with the goal of achieving cost reductions  Proficient authoring, issuing, and completing Requests for Proposals ensuring they are prepared accurately and reflect market and performance requirements.  Lead negotiations with suppliers including price, terms and conditions, terms of payment and contract finalization in order to place purchase orders and award contracts. Work with Legal department as required to resolve terms and conditions discrepancies on purchase orders and contracts.  Able to create bid tabs and author recommendation memos to circulate to project management and sourcing management for approval  Achieves cost reductions while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier service levels.  Work closely with key stakeholders in the departments of Engineering, Technical Services, Project Management and Sourcing.  Establishes and maintains excellent relationships with comparable levels of supplier personnel and internal customers We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Skills and Requirements Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.  5-10 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or category management.  Must have experience buying capital equipment for manufacturing plants.  Experience issuing RFQs/RFPs, reviewing bids, and finalizing POs or contracts.
