JJob Summary

The Buyer/Planner has responsibility for securing raw materials, equipment, supplies and services to maintain the operations of the St. Louis manufacturing facility in support of service expectations of all business units. This position requires execution of both tactical and strategic elements of planning and procurement to maximize service level to customers at minimum cost while maintaining the world class quality that is associated with Sensient’s brand. 

 

What You’ll do:

Ensuring the necessary raw materials, equipment, supplies, and services are secured and planned to meet or exceed service level objectives for both internal and external customers. Integrating Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) functions with the Sales and Operation Planning (S&OP) process to enable automated procurement activities. Maintaining alternate suppliers for the top 50 raw materials, ensuring that each supplier is approved and material specifications are documented. Ensuring that procurement activities meet budgeted spend objectives, which is crucial for financial planning and cost management. Coordinating with planning to set and meet inventory targets for all raw materials, and achieving Cash Conversion Cycle objectives associated with raw materials inventory levels.

 What You’ll Bring:

Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Procurement, with a solid understanding of the principles, concepts, and methodologies of the profession. Complementary training is also advantageous Knowledge of purchasing, traffic, and inventory control is beneficial. Experience with JD Edwards Enterprise One and familiarity with ERP system processes are highly desirable.
