Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and will be responsible for managing the procurement of materials and the planning of production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.
ResponsibilitiesUtilize MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems to place purchase orders at designated lead time.Respond to Buyer Dashboard push/pull/cancel/expedite messages accordingly.Recommend opportunities for volume discounts with suppliers for high-frequency items.Update Purchase Order records with lead times, expected delivery dates, delays, and early shipments where appropriate.Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery.Maintain accurate supplier record information with current lead time, pricing, MOQs, etc.Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.Provide support to Product Sourcing and Engineering in getting new product designs to suppliers for manufacture.Process internal purchase requisitions for new product development.Utilize MRP systems to release scheduled work orders.In coordination with Warehouse management, issue parts, assemblies and roll up/close work orders when jobs are completed.Analyze demand forecasts and adjust production plans accordingly.Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement and production planning.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.2-4 years of experience in a buyer/planner role within a manufacturing or semiconductor environment is a requirement.Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems (Netsuite preferred).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Additional Skills & QualificationsAPICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Work Environment
Office environment with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor. Some travel may be required to visit suppliers or attend industry events.
