Buyers Assistant
Description We are seeking a meticulous Buyer to join our dynamic team in Appleton, Wisconsin. In this critical role, you will be responsible for various purchasing functions that are essential to our operations. Key Responsibilities: - Maintain and update purchase requisitions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with actual demand, minimum requirements, and usage trends. - Gather and compare quotes from various vendors and suppliers to secure the best pricing. - Identify and resolve discrepancies in invoices and shipping with vendors to ensure timely processing. - Collaborate closely with the accounting and shipping departments to troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise. - Generate and complete assigned reports on a weekly or daily basis, including Cost Change, Unacknowledged POs, Open POs, and Stock Analysis. - Assist in maintaining accurate system costs in ERP. - Review reports to determine necessary purchases and execute accordingly. - Efficiently manage price changes and quotes to optimize cost-effectiveness. - Work collaboratively across multiple departments, including accounting and shipping, to streamline procurement processes. - Respond swiftly and accurately to pricing changes and vendor communications. - Utilize software tools such as VLU, Epicor P21, and Excel to enhance operational efficiency. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Buyers, Purchasing or Procurement Assistant role or similar position. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with the ability to perform VLOOKUP functions. • Familiarity with Order Entry systems and processes. • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented approach to work. • Excellent communication and negotiation skills. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks concurrently. • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities. • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field, preferred. • Knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices.
