C# Software Developer

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is helping our client recruit strong Software Developers with C# experience for a contract assignment supporting the energy and utility industries. The position is NOT 100% remote. There may be the opportunity for some remote work at times, but the position will require working primarily in an office in Nashville, Chattanooga, or Knoxville Targeted start date: early March 2025 The initial contact is expected to run through April 2026. Targeted W-2 Pay Rate: $55-$60/hour (possibly higher depending upon work experience and education level) No corp-to-corp or 1099 options available - W-2 only Time-and-a-half for overtime Due to the requirements for certification and badging, candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who have lived in the U.S. for at least the past 7 years
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with business partners to understand business needs and identify potential technical solutions
- Design, create, and maintain software by analyzing, testing, assessing, and implementing programming applications based on business priorities and guidance from management and senior software engineers
- Accept technical direction from project leads and senior software engineers proficient with build and release management development features across multiple subsystems within our applications, including collaboration in requirements definition, prototyping, design, coding, testing, and deployment
- Quickly and reliably debug and solve complicated system issues
- Demonstrate significant proficiency in fundamental and advanced application development concepts
- Demonstrate understanding of algorithm analysis and performance tuning
- Assist in the testing process by conducting reviews and analyses, witnessing tests, and participating in software certification
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of modern programming languages, system design, data structures, algorithm complexity, compiler capabilities, design methods, industry best practices, patterns vs. Anti-patterns, networks, security, development tooling, and operating systems
- Maintain proficient knowledge of modern software development lifecycle techniques and methodologies
- Demonstrate significant creativity and flexibility

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, business administration, or related field of study; OR, in lieu of a degree, equivalent education, training, and relevant professional work experience
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional software engineering experience
- Certification requirements include a minimum of 7 years of U.S. residency
- The ideal candidate will have proficiency in C#, .NET Core, SQL Server (table/query design, SSRS, SSIS, and SSAS), Blazor, JavaScript, HTML5, and Team Foundation Server (TFS)
