C-130 Avionics Modernization Engineer Lead

The C-130 Avionics Modernization Engineer Lead will be responsible for leading and supporting the avionics modernization efforts on the Kuwait Air Force's (KAF's) KC-130J aircraft. This includes designing, developing, and maintaining avionics systems and subsystems to meet program requirements and customer expectations. The lead engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and customer support, to ensure the successful integration and deployment of avionics modernization systems.


Responsibilities: 

Lead the design, development, and integration of avionics systems in support of NAVAIR PMA-207 for the KAF customerProvide experience with avionics modernization programs, specifically on the C-130 aircraft.Provide knowledge of avionics systems, including navigation, communications, flight control, and mission systemsServe as the Engineering Lead for the C-130 Avionics Modernization Program integration and testing, including flight test planning and execution.Utilize strong analytical skills and ability to use data to inform decisions and drive improvements in aircraft performance.Ensure compliance through familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as FAA and MIL-STDLead and mentor one or more junior engineersPerform under tight deadlines and changing requirementsProvide expertise with aircraft data systems and ability to develop, implement and maintain data systems.Provide expertise on aircraft safety management systems (SMS), if required.Provide expertise with aircraft airworthiness certification processes and ability to support aircraft certification efforts.


Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical or Systems Engineering, or a related technical degree, or a minimum of at least 10 years of relevant or prior military or DoD service experience in supporting new Avionics systems upgrades.Ability to work independently and as part of a team and should have strong problem-solving skills. Effectively communicate technical information to a non-technical audience and be able to lead and coordinate activities with other team members. Able to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and projects and be able to adapt to new technologies and methodologies. Strong commitment to safety and quality and be able to work within the constraints of budgets and schedules.Maintain a high level of technical expertise through ongoing training and professional development, stay current with the latest advancements in avionics technology and industry best practices. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.  Highly motivated with a passion for avionics and a drive to continuously improve and innovate. Ability to think critically and make sound decisions, while also being able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Self-starter, requires minimal direction/supervision, recognizes the tasks to be performed and accomplishes work in a timely manner.Ability to work hours necessary to meet customer needsHybrid work schedule, minimum two-three days a week in officeCONUS and OCONUS Travel 15%Experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and Power PointActive Secret clearance required
