Job Title: C-17 Structures Mechanic
Job Description

We are seeking experienced Structures Mechanics to support the C17 aircraft. The ideal candidate will have over 4 years of on-aircraft heavy structures experience, demonstrating expertise in close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures.

ResponsibilitiesPerform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas.Locate blind holes necessary for the installation of new structural items to existing structures.Perform efforts associated with sealing, painting, shimming, and preserving structures in accordance with standard repair processes.Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modifications and repairs.Access and manipulate computer systems daily for work instructions, drawings, and training.Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot-level modification and repair of structural parts.Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers' manuals.Troubleshoot and repair aircraft mechanical components and replace components, including sheet metal/structural modifications and repairs.Determine the functionality of non-complex electrical systems.Utilize aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and cable tensiometers.Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate online parts and discrepancy requests.Provide guidance and technical expertise to lower-level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and maintenance efforts.Operate a forklift, mobile crane, and riding type electric powered elevating equipment to accomplish work assignments.Maintain necessary certifications, licenses, and permits as required for assigned work.Essential Skills4+ years of experience in on-aircraft heavy structures.Thorough knowledge of aircraft repair procedures and replacement of parts.Broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repairs.Proficiency in using aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and sheet metal brakes and sheers.Experience in working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings, and standard operating procedures.Proficient in computer skills including aircraft related systems and basic office software.Ability to work various shifts and weekends as needed.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Depot Level/Heavy Structures maintenance.Experience working with titanium aircraft structures.Experience working on or around Executive Fleet Platforms.FAA certification in Airframe and/or Power Plant license is preferred.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.17 - $40.17
