Program Summary

The C-5M Super Galaxy is a strategic heavy airlift cargo aircraft providing heavy and outsized cargo transit for the United States Air Force (USAF).  The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) C-5M Super Galaxy Division (AFLCMC/WLS) is responsible for the development, procurement, and integration of modernized capabilities and for the sustainment and life cycle management of the aircraft.  The KBR C-5M team provides support to the C-5M Super Galaxy Division, facilitating the development, implementation, and execution of modernization and sustainment activities related to the Reliability, Maintainability, Quality, Supportability, and Interoperability (RMQSI) of the C-5M weapon system.  The KBR C-5M team primarily is co-located with the C-5M Super Galaxy Division at Robins Air Force Base (AFB), Georgia.

Job Summary

The incumbent of this position will function as a key C-5M Maintenance Analyst specialist responsible for logistics integration maintenance data collection and analysis support.  The individual will work with the Logistics, Engineering and Program Management teams and perform maintenance data analyst to assist with the Government with planning, managing, and coordination of C-5M life-cycle logistics support.  This individual will serve as a C-5M Maintenance Data Analyst, assisting the C-5M Super Galaxy Division with evaluation, enhancement and execution of its Logistics Support Integration activities.  They may work in collaborative efforts with System Program Office (SPO), Major Operating Commands (MAJCOMs), field level maintenance personnel, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA personnel in the development and evaluation of solutions aimed at increasing C-5M Materiel Availability objectives.  The incumbent will apply Air Force and/or DoD maintenance and systems knowledge and experience to perform various tasks related to planning, development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive, affordable, and effective system support strategy. 

Roles and Responsibilities

Drafts instructions, support development of various sustainment and project parts lists, performing maintenance data collection and analysis related to supply chain issues, and performing root cause analysis for maintenance and sustainment issuesAccomplishes historical research for all C-5M aircraft systems, malfunction analysis, modification, parts replacement, components repair, standards, and specifications. Work individually to form solutions with little to no guidance, performing all duties on-time and on-budget, identifying barriers, briefing leadership on deviations, and submitting solutions.Performs maintenance data trend analysis, failure mode and effects analysis updates, preventative maintenance package task updates, isolate and analyze aircraft functional system deficiencies, identify appropriate solutions, and assist in the production of data required to implement the improvements.Recommends maintenance procedural changes and submits change recommendation documentation via change request channels.  Prepare, edit, and/or submit research, travel, technical and other reports,.  Evaluate customer submitted: document change requests, deficiency reports, safety/hazard reports, and accident/incident reports to evaluate failure modes and formulate solutions.Execution of responsibilities will require key logistics skills, including: problem solving; critical and creative thinking; conflict resolution; multi-tasking; clear and well-organized communication skills (written, verbal and active listening); strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft office applications; and the ability to develop well-organized and credible presentations and formal written documentsCreates appropriate charts and graphs to record results; prepares and/or conducts presentations and briefings to Air Force stakeholders primarily in the C-5M Division.Ability to travel out of local area 5-10% of calendar year if needed.Candidate must possess the ability to work well as part of a team and with minimal supervision.

Basic Qualifications

At least 7 years of experience directly related to the positionBachelors Degree in logistics, management, business administration or related field.  Note – Additional experience may be considered sufficient to satisfy the degree requirementExperience in USAF organizations performing maintenance tasks and functions and demonstrating knowledge of current USAF supply, logistics and maintenance processes, policies and procedureMust possess a Secret security clearance or higherMust be a US citizen

Preferred Qualifications

15+ years experience in USAF and/or DoD logistics and supply systems operations5-10 years of experience in C-5M maintenance roles, demonstrating a progression to higher levels of experience and proficiencyExperience supporting the C-5M at Air Force organizational levelsExperience supporting DoD ACAT I/II/III acquisition programsUSAF program office experienceRelevant DAWIA certifications in logisticsExperience at multiple Air Force or DoD centers and geographic locations
