Position Summary:
The C&I/SBA Loan Operations Manager acts as the central point of communication and coordination between external SBA servicers and the internal loan servicing team, specifically for Commercial and Industrial (C&I) lending products and government loan programs like SBA 7(a) and 504 loans.
This role is pivotal in managing relationships between external servicers and internal team members, ensuring the seamless handling of all C&I and government loan programs.
By working closely with the commercial closing team and portfolio management, the Loan Operations Manager ensures that loans are processed efficiently, post-closing compliance is maintained, and loan servicing activities are performed with the highest level of accuracy and regulatory adherence.
Essential to this position is maintaining both operational excellence and regulatory compliance in Blue Foundry’s commercial lending operations.
Primary Job Functions:
+ Serve as the primary liaison between external SBA servicers and the internal Commercial Banking team to ensure seamless communication and compliance with government loan programs.
+ Work with loan closers, portfolio managers, lenders, and the credit team to ensure:
+ Post-closing requirements are fully completed
+ Ticklers and covenants are accurately entered into the core banking system
+ Intake forms properly reflect the approved and legally documented loan transactions.
+ Provide guidance to lenders on government loan programs, facilitating compliance with program requirements, and supporting expanded participation in these programs.
+ Assist management with process improvement initiatives and help document procedures related to C&I and SBA Lending to streamline operations and enhance compliance.
+ Oversee the preparation and review of loan documents, including coordinating with the borrower and title company for closings, ensuring documents are processed for proper collateral position
+ Ensure that all loans are properly onboarded into the bank’s system, verifying that loan data meets internal standards and regulatory guidelines.
+ Administer loan advances in accordance with Bank Policy, Credit Authorization, and SBA Policy, when applicable.
+ Work with Secondary Market/SBA on sale of loans and payoff of interim 504 loans.
+ Make certain all General Ledger entries are balanced and that proper controls are in place and adhered to for all post-loan approval processes.
+ Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly reports for submission to the SBA, loan participants, and bank management, ensuring data is accurate and timely.
+ Confirm the bank remains compliant with SBA regulations and other regulatory authorities, and works with bank auditors as needed.
+ Carry out other duties as assigned by Senior Management, contributing to overall team success and ensuring all operational objectives are met.
Minimum Job Requirements:
+ A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration, or a related field
+ 3 – 5 years of experience in C&I and SBA lending, including SBA operations, lending products, audits and reporting
+ Strong understanding of SBA guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures, with the ability to ensure compliance with government loan programs
+ Proficient in loan banking/servicing systems; COCC or similar system preferred
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely
+ Ability to work independently, collaborate with cross functional team members, manage multiple tasks independently and meet deadlines
+ Current knowledge of lending regulations and compliance requirements, including SBA-specific and broader lending policies.
+ Proficient in analyzing and interpreting complex legal documents
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
