The unit encourages practices that protect and improve the environment, grow sustainable business, and lead to healthy communities. The unit assists with funding opportunities by providing technical assistance. The strategic focus areas for the unit include funding; technical assistance; collaboration and partnerships. The Division of Environmental Health and Sustainability is under the direction of the Division Director and works to centralize and enhance the department’s oversight of crosscutting and voluntary environmental protection programs and initiatives. The Outreach and Technical Assistance Unit is a part of the Circular Colorado Communities Enterprise (C3) team and works closely with other environmental and health divisions to assure that initiatives are integrated into the department’s traditional environmental protection and public health efforts in an efficient and effective manner. The C3 Team, within the Division of Environmental Health and Sustainability, oversees outreach and technical assistance, as well as contract monitoring and administration of all funding, grants and contracts for the C3 program. In addition, this team works with the C3 board administrator to support board strategic goals and priorities. The team consists of two units, Outreach and Technical Assistance (OTA) and Grant and Enterprise Management (GEM). Summary of Position: This position fulfills a key strategic role within the program. The C3 marketing and communications specialist ensures that program communications correctly reflect strategic program goals and priorities, regulations as necessary, and technical discussions related to the program. The focus of the position is general communications work to include, electronic and traditional print, social media, website, media releases and media support. The position also manages special projects, stakeholder engagement, coordination of training and events, and increases capacity for stakeholder and industry relationships. This position is responsible for reviewing program reports and other materials created by the program, reviewing and updating division webpages, coordinating and developing proactive communications such as media/social media campaigns, and in response to communications and addresses press releases, media inquiries, and interviews.
