This position is located in **Columbus, Ohio.** Provides broad and complex executive administrative support to the CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear Explosives) team. Acts as an extension of their management responsibilities in a manner that ensures the most efficient use of time and maintains positive, effective and collaborative working relationships across the organization. This individual also must possess a flexible personality, be an energetic self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities while being available outside of regular business hours. This individual must be proactive, articulate, diplomatic, service-oriented, and able to learn preferences and anticipate needs. The successful candidate will be able to manage through ambiguity and work collaboratively through others to obtain information needed to problem-solve, meet deadlines and provide effective and efficient support. Sense of humor, ability to stay calm under pressure, and demonstrated curiosity and enthusiasm for continuous learning in support of business and mission-critical objectives are highly desired. Requires confidentiality, independent judgment and discretion in administering information of a sensitive and critical nature to Battelle with little to no supervision or direction. **Responsibilities** + Researches and obtains information for routine and moderately complex reports and special assignments. + Analyzes problems, determines approach, compiles and analyzes data, and prepares reports/recommendations for action by superior. + Contacts company personnel at all organizational levels and outside parties to gather information and prepare reports. + May act as coordinator of departmental projects, following up on pending details, coordinating project team activities and ensuring deadlines are met. + Work is generally of a critical or confidential nature and requires a broad knowledge of departmental and company practices, policies and programs. + Makes appointments, travel arrangements, meeting arrangements and coordinates activities between departments and outside parties. + Answers telephones, screens calls and forwards messages. + Answers routine correspondence and routes mail to the appropriate persons. + Composes, prepares, edits and proofreads letters, reports and other correspondence. + Orders and maintains supplies and ensures office equipment is functioning. + Typically uses software packages for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphics and desktop publishing applications. + Operates general office equipment such as personal computer, copier, calculator, or other office machines. **Key Qualifications** + High School Diploma; 2-4 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and or experience in a related field. + Good oral and written communications skills equivalent to those obtained in high school or commensurate experience. + Typically requires advanced word-processing and other personal computer skills. + Extensive working knowledge of departmental and company policies, procedures and practices. + Ability to prioritize and organize work. + Self-initiative and ability to work independently. + Requires a working knowledge of commonly used PC applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint slides and databases. **Preferred Qualifications** + Government Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a government security clearance is desired. **Benefits: Live an Extraordinary Life** We care about your well-being, not just on the job.
