Cable Installation Technician
Description We are in the market for a traveling Cable Installation Technician to join our team in the financial services sector, based in Dallas, Texas. As a Cable Installation Technician, you will be responsible for leading the planning, installation, repair, and support of IT server, network and security systems, and low-voltage cabling. This role involves collaborating with multiple IT teams, liaising with vendors, and engaging with business stakeholders. You will be expected to establish, maintain, and retire IT facilities, ensuring timely delivery to internal customers and projects. Responsibilities: + Undertake the installation and troubleshooting of IT server, security and network systems, and low-voltage and structured cabling. + Install and manage structured cabling and cable (CAT5/CAT6) management, including aerial, buried, and underground wiring. + Act as the primary liaison for assigned projects, coordinating activities across multiple teams. + Resolve customer issues by understanding the problem, determining root causes, researching solutions, and ensuring timely resolution. + Carry out maintenance related to IT facilities and networks across all company locations, including travel across the United States and Canada. + Keep accurate records of installation, inventory, and documentation. + Utilize technical tools such as cable testers and fiber testers. + Deploy burglar alarm, networked security cameras/recorders. + Work with Cradlepoint, HPE Aruba, Cisco Meraki network equipment. Requirements + Manage and coordinate Cabling Projects for various customers. + Build MDF and IDF rooms in GBSF sites. + Install CAT6 cables, riser cables, and fiber optic cables throughout GBSF site. + Perform site surveys for new customers sites. + Troubleshoot various aspects on the network, wireless access points printers and PC connectivity.
