Details:

Rosedale, MD 3 Month Contract to hire 25-30/hr

Responsibilities:

Assemble and arrange material and equipment,

Explain and verify service orders, drawings, specifications, particular needs, and instructions,

Run, pull, stop and splice copper and fiber optic cables, such as CAT5, SE, CAT6, low voltage cables, and fiber,

Mount telecom equipment while adhering to best practices, industry standards, and manufacturer requirements,

Aid in arranging routers, hubs, install support structures, including racks, ladders, and j-hooks, and switches using data provided by all teams within the organization,

Install access control systems, surveillance cameras, wireless access points and other devices

Choose and verify cable pathways,

Conduct site surveys for clients,

Assist in designing, creating and implementing standards and specificationsOversee the progress of cabling projects outsourced to third-party contractorsOther duties to include maintaining all documents related to cabling infrastructure, carry out installation of cable supports and pulling network cable pathways, testing and troubleshooting correctly cable and fiber installations

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Ability to document and apply policies, standards and proceduresAbility to work independently and in a team environmentExperience in presenting technical solutions and/or recommendationsFamiliarity with electronic principles as they relate to diagnosing and troubleshooting IT system issuesWorking knowledge of technical inter–relationships between software/hardware and desktop/LAN/Host systemsBasic research, analytical, and problem solving skillsBasic skill in diagnosing and troubleshooting issuesBasic skill making effective presentations to groups of various sizesBasic verbal and written communication skillsEffective organizational, planning and time management skills2+ years working in cable infrstructure working with installations servicesFamiliar with BICSI and other cabling standards and certifications
