Cable Technician
Description We are in search of a Cable Technician to be based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This role will involve installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting low voltage systems such as Copper Ethernet, Wifi, Fiber, CCTV, Access Control, VoIP phones, and telecommunication networks. The successful candidate will be an integral part of our team, providing technical support to our customers and ensuring our systems meet industry standards and client requirements. Responsibilities: • Install low voltage systems including Copper Ethernet, Wifi, Fiber, CCTV, Access Control, telecommunication networks, and computer networking equipment • Carry out system design and blueprint interpretation to ensure accurate installation • Conduct field service visits to troubleshoot and repair low voltage systems • Test and inspect installed systems to ensure they meet industry standards and client requirements • Provide technical support to customers regarding system operation and maintenance • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in low voltage technology • Utilize skills in Broadband, EO/IR systems, Networking, OSP, Patch Panel, AB Testing, Cable Installation, Cabling, Coax Cable, and Digital. Requirements • Proficient in broadband technology. • Knowledgeable in EO/IR systems. • Able to understand and troubleshoot networking issues. • Demonstrated experience with OSP. • Familiar with Patch Panel operations. • Proven experience in AB Testing. • Skilled in Cable Installation techniques. • Proficient in Cabling procedures. • Knowledgeable in Coax Cable systems. • Experience in Digital technology. • Must possess a strong work ethic and ability to work independently. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong problem-solving abilities. • Ability to lift heavy equipment. • Valid driver's license. • Flexibility to work in various locations as required. • Willingness to work in different weather conditions. • Ability to adhere to safety procedures and regulations. • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Relevant certification or vocational training is a plus.
