Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Cable Technician in the Managed Services industry based in Miramar, Florida. The selected candidate will be involved in the installation, maintenance, and repair of cable infrastructure systems. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of both residential and commercial cable systems, including broadband, data networks, and internet technology devices. Responsibilities: • Install and repair cable infrastructure systems, including televisions, routers, and internet technology devices. • Conduct routine maintenance on existing cable systems to ensure optimal performance. • Test newly installed or relocated cables in accordance with company specifications. • Identify and remove redundant cabling to maintain an organized and efficient cable system. • Troubleshoot issues within the cable network and implement appropriate solutions. • Install cable support structures such as j-hooks, cable racks, and innerduct to facilitate the effective running of cables. • Repair cable poles and towers as part of routine maintenance and repair tasks. • Ensure all cables are neatly tied and bundled in accordance with safety regulations. • Complete necessary paperwork, including timesheets, checklists, vehicle inspection reports, and service orders. • Utilize skills in Broadband, Data Networks, Cable Installation, Cabling, and Coax Cable to perform duties effectively. Requirements • Proficient in broadband technologies and their applications • Strong knowledge of data networks and their installation • Experienced in cable installation, including the ability to troubleshoot problems • Familiar with various types of cabling, including coax cable • Ability to interpret technical documents related to cabling and installations • Good communication and teamwork skills for coordinating with other technicians and client personnel • Physically fit to handle the demands of the job, including lifting heavy equipment and working in confined spaces • Ability to adhere to safety procedures and regulations in all work environments • Willingness to continuously update knowledge of new technologies and industry practices • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation • High school diploma or equivalent education required, with vocational training in related field a plus • Flexibility to work in various locations and at different times, including evenings and weekends, based on client needs • Must have good problem-solving skills to diagnose and fix issues with cable systems • Professional and courteous interaction with clients, maintaining high standards of customer service • Ability to maintain accurate records of completed work and report any unresolved issues promptly Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
