Job Title: Cable Technician

Location: West Des Moines, Iowa

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (may vary based on project demands)

Job Description: We are seeking dedicated Cable Technicians to join our team at a major Microsoft Data Center in West Des Moines, Iowa. As a Cable Technician, you will play a key role in supporting cable management systems, including spotting for other technicians on eco lifts, running and pulling cables between colos, organizing cables along cable trays, and labeling cables. This position requires working at ground level or from eco lifts (10-12 feet in the air).

Responsibilities:

Spot for other technicians on eco lifts to ensure safety and smooth operation.Run and pull cables between colos to ensure proper connectivity.Dress and organize cables along cable trays, ensuring neat and efficient installation.Manage cable systems and label cables for easy identification.Follow blueprints for assembling trays, racks, and organizing wires.

Skills:

6+ months of hands-on work experience within cabling, construction, installation, or industrial assembly.Experience working on construction sites (6 months to 1 year).Mechanical aptitude (6 months to 1 year).Ability to follow blueprints for assembling trays, racks, and organizing cables.

Additional Qualifications:

Ability to work in an indoor or outdoor construction environment.Self-motivated, professional, and positive in approach.Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.Ability to interpret blueprints and other project documents.Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds (move up to 75 pounds).

Work Environment: This role is performed indoors on active construction sites, which can include large, active areas with moving equipment and potential hazards. Safety is our priority, and all workers are required to wear steel-toed boots, jeans, and a work-appropriate shirt. The client provides a high-visibility vest, hearing protection, and work gloves.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
