CAD Design Manager – Civil 3D | Hybrid | Manasquan, NJ
VHB’s growing Northeast region is seeking a CAD Design Manager to join our civil team with strong experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D. This position provides an opportunity to work on complex multi-disciplinary projects for major institutional, industrial, and real estate clients along with local and state government and play an important role in expanding and shaping the civil engineering team.

Responsibilities
Mentors and trains CAD Designers and Engineers in the use of Civil3DManages design criteria for projects requiring the application of advanced engineering principles, material properties, and construction, installation, and maintenance proceduresDevelops engineering drawings, conceptual plans, and exhibits for a variety of projects ranging in size and complexityPlans, research, and produces contract drawings based on constraints defined by the project engineer, review agencies, and client needsDesigns utility systems based on information, schematics, and calculations prepared by project engineersDetermines CAD usage and application on projectsRecognizes and resolves potential construction conflicts and difficulties identified during designEstimates number of sheets and contract drawings as well as production time required for design manager’s reviewEnsures overall consistency, quality, technical accuracy, and design on projects 3D visualizations and 3D modelingSkills and Attributes
Effective written, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills produce high-quality deliverables in an efficient mannerTeam oriented with strong capability to work independentlyMotivated to lead and mentor others on CAD Civil 3D and drawing production proceduresHas a persistent initiative to continually learn new technical practices and to earn the confidence of clients, company management/colleagues, and regulatorsQualifications
Associates Degree preferred10+ years of advanced experience in CAD design in civil engineering environment requiredMust be knowledgeable in basic construction practices for civil construction, be able to generate drawings for engineers, and make suggestions for further developmentProficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D requiredProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteWe are VHB!
