CAD Designer

JOB SUMMARY: 

Hydrasearch is looking for a CAD Designer to join its manufacturing team in Stevensville, MD. This position supports the Engineering and Manufacturing functions of our company by providing clear, accurate models and drawings of parts and assemblies.   Utilizing SolidWorks software, the Draftsperson transforms initial rough designs into 3D models and 2D drawings.  With guidance and support from senior staff, the draftsperson uses their knowledge of drafting techniques, internal instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

JOB SUMMARY: 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Create and revise detailed Engineering models and drawings using SolidWorks. Work with Production and Engineering to revise drawings incorporating product and manufacturing improvements. Assist Engineering in performing part inspections of raw materials and finished products. Ensure that all drawings comply with company and industry standards.

COMPETENCIES: 

Experience with SolidWorks or a similar 3D CAD program. Ability to look at 2D drawings and visualize the 3D object it represents. Working knowledge of manual inspection equipment (including radius gages, micrometers, calipers, height gages) and the ability to learn to operate CMM type inspection equipment. Ability to work with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office products. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Understanding of basic math including geometry, trigonometry and algebra. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
