Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Piping and Structural Designer/Drafter to work from engineers' sketched flow sheets and P&ID’s to design and draw detailed components of seawater and brackish water reverse osmosis systems. The individual will produce designs for various reverse osmosis plant layouts in 3D and transfer this information to 2D sketches. Responsibilities include designing equipment/piping, piping tie-ins, equipment arrangement drawings, bill of materials (BOM), piping supports, steel tanks, access walkways, and other fabricated items around the desalination plant. The ideal candidate must have strong piping design skills and the ability to visualize items within a 3D space to ensure no interference upon installation.
ResponsibilitiesDesign and draw detailed components of seawater and brackish water reverse osmosis systems.Produce designs for various reverse osmosis plant layouts in 3D and transfer information to 2D sketches.Design equipment/piping, piping tie-ins, equipment arrangement drawings, bill of materials (BOM), piping supports, steel tanks, access walkways, and other fabricated items around the desalination plant.Work with project managers to gather measurement data from existing water/reverse osmosis equipment.Ensure no interference upon installation by visualizing items within a 3D space.Essential SkillsProficiency in Autodesk Plant 3D.Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in an engineering or CAD discipline preferred.3-5 years minimum professional work experience highly preferred.Relevant experience in the water treatment industry, including experience with reverse-osmosis system design.Mechanical design experience with various piping materials including PVC, stainless steel, and FRP.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with the design of mechanical support systems for piping, valves, pumps, and instrumentation.Skilled in Autodesk Vault and Autodesk AutoCAD.General PC usage and working knowledge of Microsoft Projects is a plus.Ability to produce drawings using drafting techniques outlined in our department SPO.Ability to produce designs from general design concepts.Problem-solving skills and ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.Ability to produce complete Bills of Material for the drawings produced.Work Environment
The position involves working with Autodesk Plant 3D and other Autodesk software. The work environment may include onsite visits to gather measurement data from existing water and reverse osmosis equipment. The role requires strong visualization skills to ensure no interference upon installation. The candidate will work closely with project managers and other team members to complete detailed designs and drawings for the desalination plant.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $35.00
