Job Title: CAD DesignerJob Description
Design new and support and integrate existing products through their entire life cycle.
Responsibilities
+ Carry out design assessment and create a design plan.
+ Design and draft parts and assemblies using CAD software (Inventor – Autodesk Products).
+ Actively perform tasks related to the design project.
+ Ensure design control using best design practices and processes.
+ Follow up throughout the project and evaluate and measure the project result after completion.
+ Support project members in executing tasks related to the project.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Inventor and AutoCAD software.
+ At least 2 years of experience as a drafter or CAD designer.
+ 3 years of experience in an HVAC and/or automotive manufacturing environment.
+ Strong CAD or design skills relevant to the required discipline.
+ Engineering Associate degree or Technical diploma.
+ Understanding of customer requirements and experience with standard quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, SPC, MSA, APQP/PPAP, and Lean tools like Kaizen, 5S, and Five Why analysis.
+ Experience with management systems standards like ISO9001 and ISO/TS16949.
+ Knowledge of manufacturing MRP systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Advanced proficiency in CAD and required engineering tools.
+ Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferred but not required).
+ Hands-on ability with strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
+ Knowledge of basic hand tools and familiarity with automobile mechanics/operations.
+ Knowledge of metalworking/joining/cutting operations.
Work Environment
You will report to the engineering manager and be the 5th designer on the team. You will utilize CAD software (Inventor – Autodesk Products) to create and draft designs while supporting the project members. The role involves following best design practices and processes, understanding customer requirements, and working in an HVAC and/or automotive manufacturing environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
