Job Title: CAD Designer
Job Description

We are seeking a CAD Designer to join our team. This role requires working 100% on-site at our office in Ann Arbor. The ideal candidate will generate and modify design drawings for high power substations, utilizing multiple design software tools, including AutoCAD and MicroStation.

ResponsibilitiesGenerate and modify design drawings for high power substations, including wiring, schematics, physical arrangements, structural, and civil site drawings.Work in multiple design software, including AutoCAD and MicroStation.Display attention to detail and good organizational skills.Work closely under the direction of professional engineers and staff.Communicate effectively and work well in a team setting.Implement red-line updates to AutoCAD drawings of high-voltage electrical substations for various settings.Coordinate with various departments to complete substation designs such as One Line Diagrams, Conduit, Grounding Plans, Foundation Plans, Wiring Diagrams, and Structural Yard Designs.Essential Skills0-3 years of experience in design or drafting.Proficiency in AutoCAD design software.Knowledge of MS Office Suite Software.Associates degree or applicable design experience.Commitment to being an active participant in our employee-owned culture.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with MicroStation and/or working with electric utility type drawings is a plus.Experience working with multiple design standards.PLS-CADD design experience is preferred.General surveying experience.Local candidates are preferred.Work Environment

The candidate will be working in a cubicle at the Ann Arbor building. There will be site visits with an engineer when needed. The environment is very interactive, with optional team-building activities and a monthly office potluck. Daily team meetings are held. Each drafter supports two engineers and will be working on a minimum of two projects at a time, with a maximum of three.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $27.00/hr.
