Position Overview International has an exciting new opportunity for an CAD Designer – Frames and Assemblies at our headquarters in Lisle, IL. It is an exciting time in the trucking industry with trends toward electrification, autonomy, and connectivity. Future truck designs will be influenced by these trends, and you can be a part of this dynamic phase. The designer will work in International’s Chassis Engineering product development group which is accountable for all design development and system ownership of frame systems across all our commercial vehicles. The systems include frame ladder (long members, cross-members, front end castings, and sheet metal structures, etc.), cab and chassis access steps and step mounting structures, after treatment device covers, battery boxes, fifth wheels, high voltage battery mounting, and fuel tank protective structures for buses. This position is for a Product Development Associate Lead / NX Designer. We are looking for an experienced NX Designer with knowledge of fabrication processes. Designer responsibilities include using CAD software (NX) to create 3D design solutions and drawings of components. Managing the models in Teamcenter and setting up the proper structure along with adding parts to master models to check for clearances and interferences. To be successful the designer must be able to self-motivate while multitasking and able handle direction from multiple engineers and projects. Responsibilities Research and Design new products and systems for customer needs Modify existing components to improve vehicle performance using computer-aided design (CAD) Reach out to suppliers for feedback design development Develop new options and combinations of features to meet customer needs Work with manufacturing on assembly process of components. Able to create multiple iterations of component designs and present them for feedback Minimum Requirements Associate’s degree At least 3 years of experience supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experience OR At least 5 years of experience supporting engineering activities and/or automotive or diesel mechanic experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status) Desired Skills UG-NX and Teamcenter software Experience modeling sheet metal, weldments, and plastic components Understanding of manufacturing processes such as metal forming, stamping, and casting Demonstrate ability to work in a team environment; to interface with suppliers and cross-functional teams to achieve timely execution of assigned projects.
