Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Civil Drafter proficient in site grading, drainage calculations, and related civil engineering tasks. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the planning, design, drafting, and execution of land development projects, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards.
ResponsibilitiesPerform site grading design and analysis for residential and commercial projects.Conduct stormwater drainage calculations and prepare associated reports.Design and review erosion and sediment control plans.Collaborate with surveyors, architects, and other team members to develop comprehensive site plans.Assist in preparing permit applications and ensure adherence to local zoning and environmental regulations.Conduct field inspections and evaluations to ensure project compliance.Utilize software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and HydroCAD (or similar) for design and analysis.Prepare technical drawings, reports, and documentation for client and regulatory review.Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and government agencies.Essential Skills3+ years of relevant experience in civil/site drafting.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and stormwater modeling software (e.g., HydroCAD, HEC-RAS).Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, and erosion control design principles.Familiarity with local, state, and federal permitting processes.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Additional Skills & QualificationsCivil Degree - E.I.T or P.E.Land Survey ExperienceExperience with Leica Total Stations and Carlson Data Collectors.Work Environment
The office is located off a quiet road and is the sole company in the building. It offers a peaceful and close-knit environment with individual office spaces across two levels. The team often goes out for lunch together, and most staff have long tenures, with some returning after leaving. The work schedule is flexible, typically 8-5, but employees are free to choose hours that suit them best as long as the work gets done. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
