Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a CAD Drafter II to join the Building Control Systems WattStopper Team in Carlsbad, CA. The CAD Drafter II will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and plans for mechanical equipment and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, proficiency in CAD software, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineers and other team members.
What Will You Do?
Develop detailed 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).Interpret and apply engineering specifications and standards to designs.Collaborate with engineers to understand project requirements and constraints.Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes.Ensure accuracy and completeness of all drawings and documentation.Assist in the preparation of technical reports and documentation.Maintain organized records of all drawings and related documents.Participate in project meetings and provide input on design solutions.Develop and maintain packaging design. Create package labeling as needed for new and existing products. Create/Update product labeling using Adobe Illustrator. QualificationsRequired Skills
Education:
Associates degree in Mechanical Drafting or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience:
Minimum 5 years mechanical drafting experience working with engineering teams. Minimum 3 years using SolidWorks.SolidWorks Associate Certificate desired.Experience with Autocad a plus.Experience with Adobe Illustrator desired.Experience with Bartender, NiceLabel or other labelling design software desired.Familiar with Arena PLM a plus.Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Strong knowledge of drafting, tolerances and documentation practices including use of GD&T. Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.Experience creating detailed drawing for plastic injection molded parts, sheet metal and machined parts and assemblies.Excellent understanding of manufacturing processing as it related to creation of a detailed 2D drawing. Strong computer skills, proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and meeting management software.Ability to use internet and web based resources efficiently and effectively.Must be highly collaborative and able to work in a team based environment.Fosters open communication and support an environment of innovation and creative change. Requires strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail and be able to effectively handle multiple priorities. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills and be able to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.Must be an effective listener, able to extract necessary information and validate understanding of the information.Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000/annually
