CAD Engineer
CAD Engineer Role Overview:
JSG is seeking a CAD Engineer for our client to develop and enhance internal CAD tools, streamline design and verification workflows, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize EDA environments. This role is ideal for someone passionate about automation, design methodology improvements, and driving efficiency in semiconductor development.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and refine custom CAD solutions for various design aspects, including analog design, layout automation, database management, and SoC sign-off. Automate design and verification workflows using scripting languages like TCL, SKILL, or Python to improve efficiency. Work closely with design, verification, and IT teams, as well as EDA vendors, to enhance tool utilization and optimize license management. Research and integrate advanced CAD methodologies that boost productivity and help reduce overall EDA costs. Mentor junior engineers, offering technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning. Participate in design reviews, provide feedback, and contribute to the refinement of development processes and best practices. Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, with expertise in IC design flows and CAD methodologies for analog and digital design. 10+ years of experience in CAD engineering, including at least 2 years working with advanced technology nodes (<28nm) in EDA environments. Strong background in analog design, custom layout, and physical verification processes. Hands-on experience with leading EDA tools (e.g., Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens), including tool setup, automation APIs, licensing, and scripting. Proficiency in at least one of SKILL or TCL for automation. Solid knowledge of UNIX-based systems, including file and disk management, scripting, and security best practices. Ability to develop automation frameworks and productivity-enhancing scripts in collaboration with design engineers. Adaptability to a startup environment, with the ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a team. Preferred Experience: Hands-on experience in circuit or layout design using Cadence tools. Knowledge of ASIC design workflows in Synopsys environments.

Pay Range: $110,000 - $300,000/year (DOE)
