Jacobs is seeking an CAD/IG&S Specialist 3 to support the Civil Engineering Operations program at MacDill Air Force Base.

 Program Mission\: 

The Department of the Air Force 6th Contracting Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base, FL has a continuing requirement for base civil engineering services. This includes base operations support, engineering, management, maintenance and repair of facilities and infrastructure systems, construction management, minor construction, emergency management and response, environmental requirements and programs, real property management; material procurement and management, Civil Engineer (CE) deployment training and management and exercise support.

Job Details\:

CADD and Geospatial Specialist responsible for creating and modifying project drawings, aerials, and raster graphics, tracking CADD daily priorities and project deliverables.  Ensures Geospatial data fidelity for the Engineering Flight, while adhering to the proper format and organization required by all vendors.

Prepares drawings for an entire project or a portion of a project with independent responsibility for completion.  Works from engineers' sketches, marked up prints, and verbal instructions.  Translates ideas, rough sketches, specifications, and calculations of engineers and architects and designers into complete and accurate working drawings for use in structure and system maintenance, repair, or new construction.  Includes information such as location, design, material, and dimensions, and interacts with a variety of branches of engineering to include such things as new building design, floor plans/structures, conditioning, and electrical systems, etc.

Provides CADD drafting and plotting services to internal and external customers of Engineering Department.  Communicates with customers on all job requests and CADD-related requirements.  Displays proficiency in CADD and work processing software.  Locates reference material and maintaining consistency in Mylar drawing storage, filing, and retrieval procedures.  Possesses knowledge of plotter operations.

Prepares drawings for major contractual requirements utilizing software and associated equipment  to prepare sets or groups of drawings for new construction, modification, alteration, or renovation of base facilities.  Monitors the performance of computer design system to ensure it is operating properly and makes adjustments to resolve minor software problems.  Prepares drawings for visual presentation programs using various computer programs.  Mounts drawings and sets up appropriate presentation tools (e.g., easels, overhead projectors, computer generated slides, etc.)

Stores, catalogs, maintains, and updates as-built drawings and ongoing in-house projects.  Takes action to ensure that "as-built" drawings are completed for all projects.  Researches original drawings and transcribes information and codes into GIS system.

Possesses multi-disciplinary organizational skills made necessary by high degree of interaction with various operating groups.  Maintains electronic copies of all as-built and new designs on network server in appropriate folders.

Operates and maintains print reproduction equipment.  Sets up reproduction equipment and adjusts controls for proper operation and optimum print quality.  Responsibility for the condition and upkeep of the equipment.  Maintains an adequate supply of required reproduction supplies.

Performs surveying work of limited scope and complexity.  Performs maintenance of survey equipment's consisting of field adjustments.

Performs other tasks as necessary and incidental to the required work as directed; including on-call 24-7 response with the ability to respond to base emergency within one (1)  hour.

Associates Degree in Applied Science (Architectural/Engineering Drafting Technology) or two (2) years relevant experience.

·        Knowledge of symbols, terminology, and accepted standards used in engineering drawings.

·        Knowledge of the equipment, facilities, and systems of civil, mechanical, electrical, and architectural engineering disciplines using CADD software to accomplish assignments.

·        Skill in maintaining and operating reproduction and plotting machines.

·        Ability to prepare original and complex drawings that are neat, accurate, appropriately dimensioned, and logically arranged. Knowledge of methods and techniques of drafting, including the ability to print neatly and legibly.

·        Ability to make mathematical computations using standardized tables and formulas.

·        Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
