CAD Operator
**Overview** Kimley-Horn is looking for a CAD Operator to join our Electrical team in Sacramento, CA. **Responsibilities** + This individual will primarily be responsible for: designing and producing sets of plans for electrical systems including solar, battery storage, electric vehical charging and building electrical + Participate on project teams in an active production role + Participate in project meetings internally and externally with clients + Preparation of project specifications + Preparation of electrical construction cost estimates + Daily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines + Coordination and verification of as-built drawings + Perform quality work that promotes client retention + Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including solar photovoltaic electrical site plans, equipment selection, photovoltaic module string sizing calculations, ampacity calculations and wire sizing **Qualifications** + High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree preferred) + 3+ years of design experience in Electrical Engineering specifically in any of the following: Solar PV design, Battery Energy Storage, or Energy Modeling + Advanced knowledge and proficiency in AutoCAD + Understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards, energy codes + Previous experience with solar production modeling is a plus + Previous experience with electrical solar photovoltaic design or battery storage is a plus + Passion for renewables + Building Information Modeling (BIM – Autodesk Revit) experience is a plus + Electrical power, lighting, and fire alarm design experience + Superior verbal and written communication skills + The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively + The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment + Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter + Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn **Salary Range:** $60,000 - $80,000 **Why Kimley-Horn?** At Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
