CAD Operator/Drafter

Position Summary
The CAD Operator/Drafter will provide drawing maintenance using AutoCAD systems. Work requires the use of most of the conventional drafting and CAD techniques and a working knowledge of the terms and procedures of the occupation. The CAD Operator will create and update drawings of all information systems circuits, lines, and systems into the Government’s Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) program.
Individuals must be able to attain and maintain a valid US Government Secret security clearance to be retained in the position.
Duties & Responsibilities
+ Site surveys/analysis, develop design solutions and processes for drawing management, and support QA duties.
+ Utilizes GPS software/equipment, plotters, and scanners.
+ Updates and maintains all OSP/ISP and remote communications facilities drawings in the CAD-CAM system.
+ Maintains all site drawings in final CAD format.
+ Helps customers with software issues and instructions so they may access data.
+ Conducts site surveys and creates drawings in the CAD-CAM system of all buildings with communications equipment and installation work requests to identify available facilities, materials, and required equipment.
+ Prepares various drawings of computer models such units as construction projects or parts and assemblies, including various views, sectional profiles, irregular or reverse curves, hidden lines, and small or intricate details.
+ Prepares various drawings that communicate engineering ideas, designs, and information in support of engineering functions.
+ Provides day-to-day support operations for current and future information technology services.
+ Prepares reports.
+ Ensures all paperwork such as required forms, records, and files pertaining to assigned work is maintained.
+ Responds to telephone, written, and verbal inquiries by using standard operating procedures.
+ Read, interpret, and apply engineering terminology and symbols.
+ Transfers engineering designs and concepts to final hard copy drawings and records that comply with specialized standards and specifications.

Education & Experience Requirements
+ Associate Degree in an Information Technology Field or related IT field
+ 5+ years of experience in drafting and CAD techniques
+ AutoCAD
+ MicroStation
+ Visio
+ DoD Programs experience
+ Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
+ Clearance Level: Secret
+ Certification: CompTIA Security+ or TMS certification required

+ Microsoft Office Tools: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
+ AutoCAD 2018
+ Visio
+ MicroStation
+ The position requires sitting, for long periods of time. (Sedentary Work)
+ Most duties require extended use of a keyboard and computer monitor
+ Extended Telephone Use
+ May require lifting of 20-50 lbs
