**Job Title: Cafe Worker** **Job Description** Reporting to the Food Services Manager and working within the kitchen, cafeteria, and dish room, the Cafe Worker performs a variety of food service tasks. These include meal assembly, dishwashing, food preparation, grilling, operating the cash register, deli serving, and other miscellaneous duties. The role requires time in the storage room, stocking up kitchen goods, and may involve lifting up to 40 lbs. Providing excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and hospital staff is essential. The candidate will also assist in dishwashing, cleaning, and sanitizing kitchen utensils and dishes, and will work with sanitization chemicals. **Responsibilities** + Perform meal assembly, dishwashing, food preparation, and grilling. + Operate the cash register and serve at the deli counter. + Stock up kitchen goods in the storage room, lifting up to 40 lbs as needed. + Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and hospital staff. + Assist in cleaning and sanitizing kitchen utensils and dishes. + Work with sanitization chemicals. **Essential Skills** + Experience in food service, food preparation, and food handling. + Strong customer service skills. + Ability to transcribe patient diets from a computer and write on paper for tray passing. + Inventory management of food items. + Valid Food Handler Card. + Ability to read, write, and communicate fluently in English. + Ability to take instructions, comprehend, and follow through on tasks. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience as a server, host, cook, or food service worker in hospitals or schools. + Ability to lift 25 pounds and push/pull 25 pounds. + Frequently able to concentrate on moderate detail with some interruption. + Ability to stand and walk 95% of the time. **Why Work Here?** Join a dynamic and fast-paced environment where you can make a difference by providing excellent service to patients, visitors, and hospital staff.
