There are multiple types of calibration positions opening related to performance, testing, safety, diagnostics, etc.
The Powertrain Engine OBD Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing best practice calibration solutions and performing diagnostic verification testing.
•\tManage all technical aspects of the OBD diagnostic calibrations to meet CARB regulations
•\tIdentify system requirements during system hardware design to ensure a robust diagnostic system
•\tUse standard instrumentation toolsets for data acquisition, storage, and analysis
•\tCalibrate diagnostic thresholds to meet CARB regulations
•\tProvide regular overview summaries and detailed reports on specific assignments, including timing projections
CALIBRATION is the process of optimizing engine settings so that optimal performance like minimum fuel consumption, minimum pollutant gas emissions and maximum power outage can be achieved.
Tasks include:
•\tWill work hands-on with vehicles 50% of the time.
•\tCollecting vehicle data using advanced diagnostic and measurement tools
•\tAnalyzing data to compare performance to specifications
•\tHands on calibration to ensure performance meets specifications
•\tWhen analyzing data, may run simulations on a HIL bench for further analysis, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
TORQUE SECURITY
The Torque Security Calibration Engineer is responsible for developing, testing, and validating vehicle-based calibrations that achieve world-class torque security calibrations for both spark ignited engines and electrical powertrain systems.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
* Plan, generate, and verify feature calibrations in hot climate, cold climate, and high altitude in accordance with powertrain system functional objectives along with generating reports to communicate the status of the program to the larger team.
* Manipulate and utilize large and complex sets of engine mapping data to analyze and solve complex system problems as they relate to functional safety, engine performance, fuel consumption, emissions, OBD, and base engine calibration development.
* Work cross functionally with engine development, powertrain controls and vehicle teams to identify and implement calibration solutions that achieve program requirements.
* The candidate should expect to travel 4-6 weeks throughout the year for system validation/verification.
TEST ENGINEER
The Test Engineer will define and carry out all required development / validation testing to ensure achievement of all functional objectives and assure compliance to program goals. They will participate in supplier assessments and post-test inspection reviews; including detailed failure analysis. The Test Engineer handles the tasks of designing, developing protocols and testing reports for testing automobile products to meet product requirements. Job includes verification and validation of test plans, test procedures, test reports, developing testing methodology, techniques, and standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
NICE TO HAVE:
•\t0-3 years of experience in diagnostic systems calibration development
•\tMaster of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a Master of Science in Computer Science from an ABET accredited University
•\tHardware In the Loop development/verification
•\tDatabase management
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.79 - $46.63/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Chelsea,MI.
