Element has an opportunity for an Calibration Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team.In this role, you will manage the equipment calibration within Element Singapore and Malaysia business units. Direct responsibility to Principal Quality Manager with functional responsibility to General Manager. The position will require the candidate to be eligible for permanent employment in Singapore. The Calibration Engineer is responsible for calibrating equipment and maintenance of records throughout the Element Singapore and Malaysia business units.
This role is based in Sungei Kadut Loop, Singapore.
Responsibilities Calibration of Equipment: (a) Perform regular calibration of testing and measurement, equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards. (b) Verify and adjust instruments to meet technical specifications and industry guidelines.Documentation and Reporting: (a) Maintain detailed calibration records, including test results, adjustments made, and equipment performance trends. (b) Generate calibration certificates and reports as required.Compliance and Standards: (a) Ensure all equipment adheres to international, national, and organisational calibration standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025). (b) Support audits by providing necessary calibration documentation and demonstrating compliance.Equipment Maintenance: (a) Monitor the performance of equipment to identify potential calibration or maintenance needs. (b) Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime.Procedure Development: (a) Develop, review, and refine calibration procedures for various equipment types. (b) Standardise processes to improve efficiency and reliability.Collaboration with Teams: (a) Work closely with the Quality team and Operational teams to address calibration needs. (b) Provide technical support and guidance to resolve instrument-related issues.Training and Knowledge Sharing: (a) Train team members on proper calibration techniques and the importance of maintaining equipment accuracy. (b) Stay updated on new calibration methods, tools, and industry advancements.Risk Management: (a) Identify risks associated with uncalibrated or faulty equipment and implement strategies to mitigate them. (b) Perform root cause analysis for calibration failures or discrepancies.Inventory Management: (a) Maintain an inventory of calibrated tools, instruments, and reference standards. (b) Schedule periodic calibration and ensure timely replacement of outdated or damaged equipment.Data Analysis and Trend Monitoring: (a) Analyse calibration data to identify trends, deviations, or potential areas of improvement. (b) Recommend corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and accuracy.Regulatory Support: (a) Assist in external and internal audits by providing accurate calibration records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Innovation and Process Improvement: (a) Propose and implement enhancements in calibration methods, technologies, and practices to increase efficiency and accuracy Skills / Qualifications Minimum Bachelor Degree in in Materials Science or Materials EngineeringExperience of working in an ISO / IEC 17025 calibration environment is a prerequisite.Effective organizational and time management skills with the ability prioritize activities.Ability to collaborate with colleagues and work effectively as part of a team.
