Calibration Technician 2
Overview We are seeking a full-time Calibration Technician 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for developing test and/or calibration schedules, perform activities with little direction and diagnose issues while maintaining accurate records. Essential Functions Develop and perform calibration, tests, and verification of equipment to authorized plans and procedures Develop and review calibrations and equipment datasheets, manufacturer’s calibration procedures and Garmin internal product schedules to implement actions to update test and calibration procedures, as identified Maintain and ensure the integrity of calibration records and equipment profiles Drive and support Quality functions in providing and maintaining test equipment, fixtures, and interconnects Review and develop schedules and perform intermediate tests and/or calibrations in accordance with plans and procedures Mentor less experienced Technicians (level 1) Move work and test equipment to and from work areas Lift up to 55 pounds to effectively perform the essential functions of this job description Basic Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Electronics Technology OR Vocational Certificate in Electronics, Engineering Technology, or related field OR a minimum of 80 hours towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Technology or related field OR High School Diploma or GED with previous Military training OR an equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 2 years Quality Technician experience in Calibration, EMC, RF, Antenna, Reliability, Electronics or related field Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude related to using tools and measurement devices (hand tools, calipers, gages, etc.) Demonstrated strong electrical aptitude related to operating electrical equipment and test devices (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.) Demonstrated intermediate knowledge and understanding of electronics and mechanical theory and applications Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office (Access, Outlook, Word, and Excel) Ability to move work and test equipment to and from work areas Ability to lift up to 55 pounds to effectively perform the essential functions of this job description Desired Qualifications Previous calibration, reliability, or electronics experience Experience working in a calibration lab, test lab or engineering test environment Experience with ISO9000, ISO17025, AS9100, IATF6949 Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
