Job Description
We are seeking a Calibration Technician who will be trained on calibration skills and techniques. This role involves supporting Metrologists by performing routine and non-routine calibrations, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining compliance with ISO17025 accreditation procedures and managing general office duties.
Responsibilities
+ Perform routine and non-routine calibrations and preventative maintenance on analytical, microbiological, and material sciences laboratory equipment.
+ Follow calibration procedures and access all necessary technical information for laboratory instrumentation.
+ Create and maintain certificates of calibration.
+ Ensure compliance with ISO17025 accreditation procedures.
+ Perform regular preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment.
+ Complete scheduled calibrations and create calibration certificates in a timely manner.
+ Collaborate with third-party vendors to schedule and complete calibrations by the monthly deadline.
+ Handle general office duties including scanning, filing, submitting purchase orders, and uploading documentation to Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
+ Collect and organize samples from internal labs and store them in freezers and fridges.
+ Order and organize office supplies that are not equipment-related.
+ Assist in the creation and review of Quality Control documents such as Deviations, Out of Tolerance Investigations, Change Control documentation, etc.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor of Science Degree in Physics, Chemistry, or Biology.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
+ Hands-on skills in calibration, troubleshooting, test equipment, and repair.
+ Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in a FDA regulated field is a plus, though not required.
+ 6 months to 1 year of GLP/GMP experience is preferred.
+ Interest in home improvement, building things, or repairing items is beneficial.
Work Environment
The role is within the Metrology/Central Receiving team in the QC Lab environment. Employees will have their own desk and computer, but will spend the majority of their time in the central receiving room or Metrology room working hands-on with equipment and samples. The lab space is brand new, spanning 74,000 square feet and shared with Chemistry, Microbiology, Stability, R&D, and Design and Verification teams. The team consists of 8 people, including 2 other calibration technicians, 3 Metrologists, and 3 individuals in Central Receiving. The position operates on a flexible 1st shift schedule with a start time between 6am-9am and an end time between 2:30pm-5:30/6:00pm. Some overtime may be required depending on project demands. Comprehensive training will be provided by the Lead Metrologist.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
