Role description:

Arcadis is looking for a California Water Reuse Lead to join our Resilience Water Team in Southern California.  The California Water Reuse Lead will collaborate with regional managers to lead, manage, and support the development and implementation of business development strategies and enhance delivery capabilities for water/wastewater/reuse treatment projects and programs in the region.

Role accountabilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for leading the California water reuse strategy and implementation, as well as tracking California reuse projects and regulatory developments/approvals. Additionally, you will lead and manage municipal recycled water projects and actively participate in client development activities. This will involve assisting with position and capture strategies, proposal and presentation efforts, and working closely with Area Leaders and client Account Leaders to develop project scopes, fee estimates, and ensure profitable delivery. You will also be responsible for managing risk, identifying project staff, and overseeing related activities.

Participation in water reuse leadership initiatives, such as organization committees and conference presentations, will be expected. As a leader, you will take charge of projects and clients involved in the planning, design, and construction of recycled/water/wastewater treatment plants, distribution/collection systems, and pump/lift stations. This will include creating construction documents, specifications, and providing oversight of design support services during construction.

Managing a range of projects for various clients in the region will be part of your responsibilities. This will involve managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment, and leading project teams to ensure the successful completion of project deliverables. You will work directly with clients to determine their needs and provide appropriate solutions. Additionally, you will lead and coordinate multi-disciplined engineering teams, ensuring that planning and design tasks are completed within budget and on schedule.

As a leader in the field, you will also support the work of others and mentor junior-level engineers and design/drafting technical staff. It will be crucial to ensure project compliance with all Arcadis practices, as well as maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Depending on the staffing needs of the projects, some travel may be required for site visits, client meetings, safety audits, general planning purposes, or to oversee construction activities.

Required Qualifications

10 years of relevant experience in municipal water/wastewater engineering and consulting. Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited school. PE License in California.

Key Skills/Abilities

Experience implementing reuse processes and technologies, including disinfection, membrane filtration, reverse osmosis, ozonation, UV advanced oxidation, corrosion control, etc. Client management experience including building relationships, supporting pursuits, proposals and interviews. Ability to effectively deliver client presentations, prepare written reports and communicate technical concepts. Interpersonal and relationship skills, mentoring and motivating staff.

Preferred Qualifications

15 years of experience. Master of Science or Master of Engineering in related field. Active participation in regional and/or national professional associations.

Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
