**Description:**
Come join the Patient Food Services team at Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England! We are a member of the nationwide Trinity Health family, bringing compassionate care to our communities.
**Position Purpose:**
This position assists the department in the clerical aspects of preparation for patient meal service through accurate menu processing and assisting patients with menu selection.
**What you will do:**
+ Solves customer problems, treats customer with dignity and respect. Acknowledges customer and responds quickly to customer needs
+ Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to identify and process correct diets and portions for all age groups from pediatrics through elderly adults.
+ Provides assistance with tray assembly as needed.
+ Treats all information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
+ Follow safety policies and procedures.
**Environmental and Working Conditions:**
+ This position will be working in the diet office the majority of their shift with periods of time in the kitchen on the patient tray line.
+ Position may also be required to visit patient rooms as necessary to take patient’s meal orders. Uses a computer, tablet, phone, and copier.
+ Candidate must be able to accurately enter meal orders into computer software, must be able to focus in a busy and fast-paced environment. Must also be flexible in order to cooperate and appropriately respond to changes in workload.
**Minimum Qualifications** **:**
+ Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent
+ Job Knowledge/Experience: Related experience or education demonstrating knowledge of normal and modified diets and the Carbohydrate Counting and Protein Exchange Systems preferred.
+ Must be able to stand for long periods of time (up to 2 hours).
+ Must be able to sit for long periods of time (up to 6 hours).
